Siem Reap Airport (SAI), officially Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, is the airport for Siem Reap province in north-west Cambodia and the main air gateway to the temples of Angkor. It lies about 50 km east of Siem Reap city centre and about 40 km from Angkor Wat. SAI replaced the old Siem Reap International Airport (REP) as the city's airport, so every passenger flight now uses SAI. There is one passenger terminal, with separate departure halls for international and domestic flights. Its design follows traditional Cambodian architecture, with terracotta roofs, deep eaves and a glass spire that echoes the Angkorian temples.
The airport was built and is owned by Angkor International Airport Investment (Cambodia) under a build-operate-transfer agreement with the Royal Government of Cambodia, and Yunnan Airinvestment (Cambodia) Airport Management runs day-to-day operations.
Everything happens in the one building. The International Departure Hall is on the third floor, reached by the approach bridge, and the Domestic Departure Hall is on the first floor at the east end of the building. All arrivals come in on the first floor. The operator lists these airlines at SAI:
The operator lists AirAsia as one entry covering its Malaysian, Thai and Cambodian airlines. Cambodia Airways also flies domestic routes from Siem Reap. With a single terminal there is no transfer between buildings, but routes and schedules change, so check your e-ticket.
The airport is a fair distance from town, so plan the transfer before you land. The operator does not publish journey times. Fares are shown at the counter or in the app.
The official Airport Bus runs between SAI and a town terminus on Makara Road in Siem Reap. After you leave arrivals, follow the Airport Bus sign: the ticket counter is on the left, and the bus stop is in the first-floor arrival welcome area under the bridge. It does not include hotel pick-up or drop-off.
Official taxis of the airport's Tourist Transport Association wait at the pick-up points on the arrivals roadway on the first floor.
The Grab pick-up point is in the first-floor arrival welcome area under the bridge, close to the Airport Bus stop.
For tour vans and other pre-booked vehicles, ask at the Tourist Service Center beside the international exit in the arrival welcome area.
Two public car parks serve the terminal, one in front of the building and one in front of the domestic departures area, and a VIP car park is on the east side. Drivers dropping off for international flights use the elevated road to the third floor.
Duty free shops are in the central area of the International Departure Hall on the third floor and in the International Arrival Hall on the first floor. The departure hall also has Cambodian local-product and souvenir shops and a convenience store.
Level 1 holds international and domestic arrivals, the arrival welcome area and the Domestic Departure Hall at the east end. Level 3 is the International Departure Hall: check in there, go through immigration and security, and continue to the airside shops and waiting areas.
Landside, food and drink outlets are in the first-floor arrival welcome area, and there is a café in the middle of the car park. Airside, the international departures commercial area has more choice after security.
CIP lounges are signposted airside in international departures. Access depends on your ticket or card.
A smoking area is provided airside in the international departure waiting area.
Reclining lounge chairs in the international departure waiting area are good for a nap before boarding. The same area has a prayer room. Charging zones are in both the international and domestic waiting areas, and free airport Wi-Fi is signposted on the departure information boards and also covers the Airport Bus waiting area.
Bank counters and ATMs are in international departures, in the baggage claim hall and in the arrival welcome area near the international exit. A currency exchange counter sits by the Domestic Departure Hall entrance. A pharmacy is airside in international departures, and a first aid point is in the international check-in area.
For international flights, check-in opens 2.5 hours before departure and closes 45 minutes before. For domestic flights it opens 2 hours before and closes 30 minutes before; Air Cambodia closes 15 minutes before. Because SAI is about 50 km from the city centre, the operator advises leaving plenty of time for the road trip. Entry rules for Cambodia depend on your passport, so check the official guidance before you travel. For updated times on the day, see the Traveloka flight status page.
The fare cards on this page show fares on popular routes from Siem Reap. The schedule tables list upcoming departures and arrivals at SAI by date, with the airline and scheduled times; they are a selection, not the whole timetable. Choose a route, compare airlines and departure times for your dates, and set a Price Alert if you want to wait for a better fare.
