Booked this hotel a few days before my stay last month just for myself as a birthday treat. When I reached the lobby for check-in, I was greeted with a birthday greeting and also was kindly asked when I would like to receive the cake. I was overcome with joy and thankful to York Hotel for doing this on short notice! The hotel has a very 90s vibe to it with the look of the corridors and the rooms. But I was very happy with how my room turned out. It may have been a bit dark but the room is very cosy with the very generous double bed, a working area, and chairs to rest. The bathroom was very clean, and the toilet thankfully comes with a bidet feature, much needed. The bathtub was also big enough to accommodate myself, a 1.75m person. As I took the option with breakfast (additional), managed to try both Western and Asian cuisines. Some of the food was great but others were average. The rice dumpling was my favourite among all that I tried. Wouldn't mind coming here for just a meal soon. As the Covid situation is not as stable, the gym is closed though the pool is open. You can book a slot with reception, and just bring your token or app when checking in. The pool is divided into two and mainly for leisure rather than the usual competitive swimming. Check out was smooth and the lobby staff were really friendly. Thank you for a memorable time, York Hotel!
