How to go to Pahang

By Flight

Travel by air is possible via MAS or AirAsia as there are flights practically every day from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan (Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport) which takes less than 45 minutes. But do take note that flights between KLIA and Kuantan may be delayed or turned back due to bad weather. This may happen during the rainy seasons approaching the end of the year.

By Bus

There are many express bus companies that commutes every day to Kuantan from major cities in Peninsular Malaysia. Most come from Kuala Lumpur and you can easily hop on a bus that departs to Kuantan each day from the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS).

Berjaya Hills

They say a picture paints a thousand words and in the case of Berjaya Hills, this saying is simply spot on. With Colmar Tropicale and the beautiful Japanese Village, everything is way more appealing up the Berjaya Hills. Colmar Tropicale is a French styled village that is 45 minutes away from the city and the Japanese Village is the perfect place to catch some rest and relaxation. Get a spa treatment at the Tatami Spa or wander through the beautiful gardens or even take part in traditional tea ceremonies at the Tea House.

Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands is the most popular of the highlands retreats in Malaysia. Located at almost 2,000 meters at its highest point, Camerons offers visitors a moderate climate with daytime temperatures averaging around 25 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius at night. This makes the environment conducive for growing continental plants, fruits and vegetables while providing a cool escape for city-dwellers. The township of Camerons is itself divided into Tanah Rata, Brinchang and Ringlet.

Tioman Island

About 56km off the coast of Pahang lies Tioman Island, an alluring holiday paradise in the South China Sea. Acclaimed as one of the best island getaways in the world, Tioman was the location of the Hollywood musical, 'South Pacific' in 1959. According to legend, this island is the final resting place of a mythical dragon princess. The warm waters and good visibility make Tioman a paradise for divers. Discover astounding sights such as colourful Gorgonian sea fans, Staghorn corals, nudibranchs and beautifully sculptured sea sponges. Snorkelers can delight in swimming alongside huge Napoleon Wrasse, Golden Striped Trevally, Bumphead Parrotfish and shoals of Fusiliers.

Taman Negara

Taman Negara (National Park) is the first and the oldest official Protected Area in the country, originally named King George V National Park. Declared in 1938 by the Sultans of Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu (during King George's Silver Jubilee), it was gazetted to preserve the land's indigenous nature in perpetuity. The park was renamed Taman Negara after the nation gained independence in 1957. The most popular activities at Taman Negara are river cruises and jungle trekking. The canopy walk is also a must-see, offering a fantastic close up view of activity in the rainforest canopy.
