The hotel was excellent they are currently doing construction to help improve the property so that is just a temporary negative, however overall the hotel is lovely. Fantastic location very convenient to train, bus, and of course the Tower of London and Tower Bridge!

The location of this hotel is great, not as expensive as other hotels in the area. But the hotel rooms are dated, they’re smaller than they look in the pictures, there’s like a weird smell on the towels and bed sheets. Staff was somewhat helpful, it was just an okay stay.

I’ve stayed here a fair bit and it’s usually good but this trip was awful, they are doing renovations in the foyer and the noise was awful, how the staff can work in that I don’t know AND no warning on their website . We had a room with not hot water and then moved to one with aircon not working, the second room was really badly maintained. Terrible stay this time!

Read the reviews (I did). The furniture has a lot of wear and tear. My TV had a broken screen. Rooms could be cleaner, especially in the bathroom (probably just needs to be updated). But, it is a wonderful location; you cannot beat the location. Staff are nice. Hotel is affiliated with the coffee shop around the corner so you can use any vouchers there. They need to do a bit more work on not letting the place seem to have a lot of turnover and wear and tear. That all said, I would stay again.

I’m really disappointed with our stay at The Tower Hotel. We booked a family room (Room 860) expecting a clean and comfortable space, but unfortunately it was anything but. On arrival, there were long hairs in the bathtub, hair on the bed, and the floors clearly hadn’t been hoovered. To make matters worse, there were flies/gnats in the room, and a constant beeping noise that made it difficult to relax. We contacted reception to raise these issues and also asked for an extra heater as the room was very cold. A member of housekeeping came up, picked a few hairs off the bed, left a heater, and then left again. The wider cleanliness issues and the noise were not addressed at all. I’m writing this while lying in the bed feeling itchy, uncomfortable, and unable to sleep—which really says everything about the standard of the room. Overall, this was a very poor experience and not what you would expect from a hotel like this, especially when travelling as a family. I would strongly recommend checking your room thoroughly on arrival or considering alternative accommodation.

If there are serious renovations happening it would be nice to know in advance. Although on arrival staff promised work would not start until 8am we were woken at 6:50 by the workmen emptying a skip right outside our window.

The standard room we had was very clean, but the whole room was very, very tired and needs all the fitted furniture replaced. The mini fridge wasn’t working. The staff were very helpful and polite. But for what the room cost us it was ok for one night.

The hotel’s location is outstanding - right across from Tower Bridge, which is truly incredible. However, the property itself could benefit from a complete renovation. The exterior feels somewhat worn, and both the lobby and guest rooms would improve with updates as well. I didn’t try the food, so I can’t comment on that. On a positive note, the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming throughout the stay.

Great hotel, beds were comfortable but we called housekeeping multiple times and there was no answer until we called the front desk because our room only came with half a used toilet paper. We had to wait for hours. Then we tried calling room service and there was no answer either. Overall the rooms were great but the service could’ve been better. Location is a 10/10 though so that makes up for a lot in the end.

The hotel was under construction with no disclosure! They were using jack hammers during the day to remove the flooring in the lobby. We were provided no hearing protection or masks for the concrete in the air. There was no discount or additional amenity offered in the place of what we thought we had reserved. Very disappointed. Felt like a bait and switch. Will be filling a complaint with Expedia.

We booked this hotel for the location and the view, and neither of them disappointed: we were truly just steps away from Tower Bridge & the Tower of London, and had a fantastic view of the Bridge and the Shard. It’s also a short walk to the Uber boat, which was really fun for getting around the city. As for the accommodations themselves: the bed was extremely comfortable, had a nice crisp cotton duvet cover, and gave us good nights’ sleep; and the room itself was generally in good shape, though the woodwork and upholstery is getting a little bit shabby. There were no electrical outlets by the bedside tables, which was a bit of an inconvenience, since both of us travel with devices that we use as our alarm clocks. The room was not perfectly prepared for our arrival: the phone wasn’t working, there was an extra twin bed in the room that we hadn’t requested, and somebody’s little stuffed animal had been left in the room. However, when we asked for help with these issues, they were resolved within 20 minutes by very attentive staff. The concierge was extremely accommodating and helpful with a couple of things we asked about, including getting a taxi when it was time to depart. In April 2026, the lobby was under construction, which could be extremely loud during the daytime; however, we were out of the hotel for most of the day each day, so it didn’t inconvenience us badly. It’s not the finest hotel accommodation I’ve ever had in London, but we were satisfied with our experience.
