The inauguration of GoCher, or the shortening of Argo Cheribon, was marked by the distribution of 2.109 cakes to passengers at Kejaksaan Station.

The name of the Cheribon train caused controversy because it was considered colonial and had received rejection from naturalists and train lovers. Even so, PT KAI Daop 3 Cirebon explained that there was a solid historical value behind the name selection.
Kuswardoyo, the Public Relations Manager of Daop 3 Cirebon, said that the naming of Argo Cheribon refers to the name of Cirebon Station when it was first built in 1912. The name is also considered a witness to the journey of Cirebon Station until it is as big as it is today.
Based on the information from Kuswardono, the naming of Cheribon is proof of PT KAI'S concern to introduce and remember the history of Cirebon Station to the public. Moreover, until now, Cirebon Station is still well maintained and even added with various facilities.
