 If you take the Prameks train from Kutoarjo, Yogyakarta, or Lempuyangan, you can get off at Maguwo Station. Likewise, if you take the Prameks train from Solo, Purwosari, or Klaten, you can get off at Maguwo Station. Maguwo Station provides air access to Adi Sucipto Airport and Yogyakarta International Airport.

Passengers arriving at Maguwo Station can also quickly access public transit such as Trans Jogja, angkot, taxis, or online ojek to continue their journey. Unique Facts about Maguwo Station

In 1990 Maguwo Station was built as a bus stop by the Nederlandsch Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij (NISM). For the record, on May 21, 1873, the NISM company made a railway line from Solo to Yogyakarta, part of the Semarang-Vorstenlanden (Yogyakarta and Solo) railway line which was the first railway line in Indonesia. This line was built to transport export products, especially sugar, to the Port of Semarang and then sent to Europe.

The main building of Maguwo Station was initially made of wood, and then in 1926, NISM expanded Maguwo Lama Station to improve the service aspect. The station served as a place to transport passengers and goods, including the transportation of sugar from the Wonocatur Factory close to the station.

Maguwo Station was a silent witness to the Second Dutch Military Aggression in 1948 where the station became a transportation center for Dutch troops after parachuting at Maguwo Airstrip, now known as Adisucipto Airport. During its active life, Maguwo Station served loading and unloading Sriwijaya fertilizer to the fertilizer warehouse and transporting boilers to supply avtur to Adisucipto Airport.

In 2008, activities at Maguwo Station were diverted about ± 600 meters to the east after PT KAI finished building a new station right at Adisucipto Airport to create interconnections between modes of transportation. Because of this, the name "Old Maguwo" was recognized and used to distinguish it from the newly built Maguwo Station.
