Information About Surabaya Kota Station
Surabaya Kota Station (SB), or better known as Semut Station, is a large class B railway station located in Bongkaran, Pabean Cantian, Surabaya. The station is included in managing Operation Region VIII Surabaya and KAI Commuter, located at +4 meters above sea level. It is an end station for local and Commuter Line train services to central and southern East Java.
In the past, Surabaya Kota Station served as the end station in Surabaya City that connected the southern Java Island railroad with routes to Surakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bandung. In addition, the station is also the starting point for the central Java Island railroad that leads to Purwokerto and Jakarta, as well as the eastern Java Island railroad that connects Surabaya with Jember and Banyuwangi.
However, in its current development, train departures and arrivals from various southern and central Java destinations have been moved to Surabaya Gubeng Station, except for the Sri Tanjung train on the Lempuyangan-Ketapang route. Therefore, Surabaya Kota Station serves as a place for storing inter-city train sets. Currently, the station only serves local and commuter train trips.
Surabaya Kota Station provides facilities including ticket counters, a comfortable waiting area, toilets and an information center. Passengers can enjoy the services of restaurants and food stalls within the station. Other facilities include a parking area, luggage storage, and an information board that updates train schedules.
When arriving at Surabaya Kota Station and wishing to continue their journey to the city center, passengers can continue their journey by using various public transportation options such as Trans Semanggi, Suroboyo Bus, angkot, online ojek, taxis, and Wira Wiri Suroboyo for travel convenience. Then, for trips to neighboring cities such as Malang or Sidoarjo from Surabaya Kota Station, passengers can choose between convenient local train services, inter-city buses at Surabaya Terminal, or private cars or taxis for travel convenience and flexibility.
