As a station that is widely used for transit, it is not surprising that many trains pass through Tegal Station. It has several destinations as they can go to West, Central to East Java. Here are some further facts from Tegal Station;
Before it was busy serving various routes to various places, it turns out that Tegal Station was once a film shooting location in the 1980s. This cannot be separated from the architecture of Tegal Station which still has colonial taste.
Tegal Station is one of the stations with the highest number of passengers during the big day vacation flow in 2023. The number of passengers who departed was 12,658 people, while the number of passengers who arrived was 5,178 customers in just one day. This makes Tegal Station the station with the highest cumulative volume for the period 12-19 April 2023.
In front of the station, there is a locomotive made by Fried Krupp on display. Fried Krupp itself is a legendary German automotive, iron, and other technology company that stopped operating in 1999. This locomotive comes from the D301 series, several of which have been displayed in Jogja and Semarang Tawang.
The locomotive made by Fried Krupp on display in front of Tegal Station is the D30103 series which is a collaboration between the Tegal government and Indonesian Train Company. The Tegal government added several accessories around it to give the impression that the locomotive was still alive. Of course, this could also be a tourist attraction for the local community.
