Tanjong Pagar MRT Station is located on the East-West Line of Singapore, usually serving workers and local residents. The workers are mostly Shenton Way and Robinson Read area employees.

Many mural paintings adorn the walls of the building to add to the aesthetics and make it more alive. The painting was made by a local artist, located about 10 minutes walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station.
The famous mural is ‘My Chinatown Home’ by Yip Yew Cheong which tells about the old Chinatown. This mural is at 30 Smith Street near the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.
