Just a really good hotel

We arrived at 15:00 but their check-in systems was down. We were asked to wait for 5 mins, which turned into 20mins which then turned into a very frustrating 1hr 30 mins. Our friends were given a room card only to find another guest already in the room when they entered. We had booked an early dinner with other friends at Carbone which we were very late for,so we had no time to change and it ruined what was going to be a very relaxing evening. What made it all worse, was the staff at the hotel just didn't know what to do, as there seemed to be no back up their online system when it went down. Guest were left waiting in reception when even though rooms had been allocated they didn't want to give room keys out because they couldn't take a card deposit. In the end we had to insisted that they gave us our room card after asking more than 5 times. Having this poor experience with the check in, the room we were allocated was small and noisy being next to the road and not having double glazing. The stair carpet down to reception looked like it had not been cleaned in 20 years. For all of this dreadful experience no discount was offered and we left the next morning without having breakfast as we had totally lost faith with this hotel.

Our room was adequate and the members of staff were courteous. Unfortunately when we arrived to check-in the hotel booking system was down and what ensued was chaos

I stayed on the first floor overlooking the road. The bedroom was a standard with a double bed. When I booked it said superior room with a queen bed. Room was very noisy the traffic was heavy and noisy until 3am. Would have thought that windows would have been better to shut out traffic noise.

Great location, beautiful hotel

Excellent breakfast range and great quality. Had an omelette made for me which was delicious. The staff team were very friendly and attentive. Thank you. Would recommend highly.

Mandeville hotel turned out to be exactly what we want. We stayed there for 11nights. The room are very clean even though a bit small. Hotel staff were very helpful with directions, suggestions for restaurants and facilitated extra work with great attitude. There are a lot of restaurants and boutiques all with in walking distance. Tube station is just minutes away. Highly recommend it!

Clean room with good facilities

Great location, decent hotel, poor sleep. The room we received looked very little like those in the pictures. Instead of a newly renovated eclectic look ours felt more like a cruise ship ca. the 1980-90s. Orange hues, marble and cheap art deco. A broken TV and a Nespresso machine that spouted coffee grains. Smaller stuff. What's bigger was the comfort level. The windows felt like something from the 60s; single pane and prone to leak cold air and noise both. We had a corner room with in theory nice view, but had to keep the heavy curtains constantly drawn to reduce the icy draft. Heat came from some ancient built-in air conditioning type device that while running would sound like someone gargling water. Due to the poor isolation and very thin synthetic bed spreads we had to keep it running all night. All in all it added up to very poor quality of sleep; after just two nights at the hotel both my wife and I felt as exhausted - near jetlagged - as if we'd been on a 16 hour cross-continental flight. Otherwise the location is genuinely great, just around the corner from shops and restaurants yet in a more quiet area. Staff are friendly too.

Tiny rooms

Everything is good in the room. Friendly staff. Area of improvement might be the breakfast - there is a choice of either buffet breakfast or a la carte breakfast, however I was not being informed of the a la carte.

I cannot comment on The hotel itself as, unfortunately, I didn’t stay there in the end due to an error on my part. I did, however, contact the hotel for assistance and ASSAD went above and beyond to try to assist me. I was so impressed with his outstanding customer service.

Had a wonderful overnight stay at the Mandeville. The staff were so welcoming and professional. Made us feel very welcome. Attended a lovely wedding and shopped at Selfridges. Would definitely recommend staying.

We have been staying at The Mandeville for years .. every staff member is so welcoming and attentive , the rooms are spotless, spacious and quiet and the breakfast is excellent and of course the location is fantastic
