My family of 4 stayed here for 1 night for a weekend away from Hanoi. This hotel is as described and my rating corresponds accordingly. The room was clean. The beds are firm but we all got a good night sleep. English is very limited so if you can speak Vietnamese it will help a lot. A free pho breakfast was included. When the staff discovered my family is vegetarian they went out of their way to find an alternative. They made us special eggs on toast and coffee. It was very kind of them to help us in this way. (Vegans may need to pack their own food for this adventure.) The hotel is in an excellent location if you want to catch the ferry over to the island and walk about and see the water features, dinosaurs, temple and have fun at the water park. The ferry leaves 100 m down the hill from the hotel. There is a charge to enter the island (100k pax) and water park (100k pax). We had a fun half day at the island. We would have loved to stay longer and have lunch at the island restaurant but the food for vegetarians is generally very limited in this area. An islander seemed to suggest that the temple had vegetarian meals but it seemed to be closed during our visit. The restaurant at the hotel seemed to be open only for breakfast and being unfamiliar with this location and unsure where we could get a vegetarian meal, we decided to go to the flamingo resort to get lunch. We stayed at the resort for the afternoon and for dinner too. The resort wasn't as much fun as the island and it was very expensive (300k pax just to enter). I recommend visiting the island over the resort if you have limited time. I see enormous potential for this hotel. I think it could be a very popular destination with a bit of work and if the restaurant offering lunch and dinner (maybe they do and we just didn't know). A little information booklet or webpage, explaining the local attractions etc particularly for non Vietnamese guests would be a great addition. I wish the hotel much success.
