Hampton by Hilton Canterbury

Truly a gem in the city centre, from a welcoming multifunctional lobby floor to clean, spacious rooms, a firm bed and a 58” TV. Breakfast buffet covers all the bases (except perhaps for the coffee). Comes with very good (~75MB) WiFi as standard. What’s not to like ??

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to Canterbury high street and main shops, the staffs are attentive and responsible. Great varieties of breakfast, and the room has everything I need.

We visited Canterbury for the first time to experience the Christmas markets as part of a ladies’ night away, with lots of festive activities planned. The original hotel I had booked fell short in terms of service, so I changed our reservation at the last minute to the Hampton, a decision I’m so glad I made! Even before arrival, communication was excellent. I was kept well informed, particularly regarding parking, and the service already felt warm and welcoming. On arrival, we were quickly accommodated. Louise went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and settled, which made a real difference. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and provided a great night’s sleep. Despite being located on a pedestrian road, the hotel was quiet, with no noise or disturbances on our floor. The location was fantastic for accessing the Christmas markets and local shops. Breakfast was satisfactory, with an average selection and quality. The waffles were a highlight, along with the fresh fruit. The hot chocolate was very popular with the rest of the group. Fried eggs would have been a great addition to the menu. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Every member of staff we encountered was polite and pleasant.
