The hotel looks amazing from the outside with a unique design. We were lucky to get a room upgrade, and we absolutely loved the room. It was very spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Plus, it was the only hotel on our UK trip with AC, which made a big difference! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in York.

We stayed in the Hudson Suite (room 101). it was stunning. Beautiful view of garden and York Minster. Room was massive with high ceilings. Gorgeous marble bath with separate toilet room with sink. Hotel had covered access to train station behind the hotel so even though it was raining when we left, we stayed dry. Also, even with hotel so close to the station, we never heard a train. Easy walk to all sights and restaurants. We would definitely stay again when in York.

We love this hotel. Great location, lovely staff, fabulous rooms. Would love to see fresh baked bread for breakfast. Cheap white and whole meal don’t match the quality of the hotel.

Very convenient location. Essentially it is part of the very extensive railway station making travel much easier. However the hotel obviously once was a palatial building but now is badly in need of a major renovation and update. Enjoy the history but the royals have moved out.

Nice hotel with lots of atmosphere. Room was OK, the view onto the railway station wasn’t the best. I’m sure we could of upgraded but couldn’t be bothered. Food was good, staff very friendly. All in all a good experience and I would certainly recommend. York is a great place to visit also.

We stayed in a twin room. It was very dark, and the bathroom was quite small. We did not even have a place to hang the hand towel. Room service was quick, but the restaurant was quite slow. Great location!

Nice historic train hotel that is conveniently located right by York Station and close to the Train Museum thay sadly we didn't get time to visit. Rooms were nice and the hotel had a good vibe and feel to it. Although outside the city walls, its location by the station with all the rapid connections from there to London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, and Manchester should make the Milner a compelling choice for visitors to York.

Stunning communal spaces, stairs and bar. That staff are very courteous and helpful. You can even rent an umbrella. There is parking and it’s at the reduced rate of £22 if you pay at reception (£40 outside) Our room was a superior king but faced the station. BE AWARE that rear facing rooms get to hear the trains idle at the station for 15-30 mins at a time despite double glazing. A tip would be to master the air con before bedtime as it’s tricky to use (until you know how) and the rooms get quite warm without it.

Friendly and attentive reception staff. We stayed in a suite room 400 and it was lovely and spacious, clean and situated in a quiet part of the hotel. Breakfast was self service and all the food was piping hot. As with most hotels the toaster was slow which meant there was always a queue.

We really liked this property. The only caveat was that we couldn’t control the heat system in our room. There was a control system, but no matter what we did it kept changing it back to the original temp, which was a bit warm for us. Super convenient location. Staff were phenomenal. One last little thing, our bed sort of shifted around a lot, it felt like we were on a swivel. This didn’t cause much of an issue for us.
