Selected for convenience but appreciated historic elegance. I was traveling by train and bus, and it was perfect for both.
Friendly, helpful staff. Smallish room, but I associate that with time period. Had similar experience at Chicago's Palmer House from same time period. Enjoyed my stay.

An incredible property and an incredible experience. We loved our stay at this historic hotel. 10/10 recommend! Based in a super accessible location to the train station, medieval wall and the town!

Beautiful building, the rooms are spotless and the staff are friendly and efficient.
There is a bit of noise from the train station next door but that also means it is very convenient for travellers

The hotel looks amazing from the outside with a unique design. We were lucky to get a room upgrade, and we absolutely loved the room. It was very spacious, beautiful and comfortable. Plus, it was the only hotel on our UK trip with AC, which made a big difference! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in York.

Beautiful hotel, very comfortable with the best location-only few seconds from York train station. Original booking was the standard room, too small for two people particularly when you bring two large suitcases. We upgraded to their Junior Suite, spacious, comfy, & pretty interior. Would love to stay longer next time!
