Located on Medan Merdeka Timur Street No. 1, Gambir, Central Jakarta City, Special Capital Region of Jakarta 10110, Gambir Station is the major station of the province and strategically located in the middle of the city, precisely, to the east of the National Monument.
Stopping at the National Monument, you can find a special access that connects to Gambir Station. From there, you can use Transjakarta Bus Corridor 2, and get off at the Gambir Bus Stop 1 or 2.
Also known as Jakbir, this station has been around since the Dutch colonial era, to be precise in 1884. Massive renovations took place in the 1990s, changing it into an overpass station. Currently, Gambir Station keeps improving. The palace is the house for Sultan, the monarch of Yogyakarta, and also a museum for historical relics.
