About Bali accommodation

About 3-stars hotels in Bali

Bali is not a country; it is one of the provinces situated on the eastern side of Indonesia’s archipelago. Nestled between Java and West Nusa Tenggara, Bali spans over 5,700 square kilometres. Compared to other provinces in Indonesia, the island is relatively small, but it has immense value to offer the world.

Tourists, both local and international, have named Bali the "Island of the Gods" due to its vibrant culture, lush landscapes, and countless stunning beaches. Moreover, the island offers a rich cultural heritage and a sense of spiritual tranquillity. Whether you’re a nature lover, an adventurer, or seeking relaxation, Bali has something to offer everyone.

The Best Attractions to Visit in Bali

With its great nature, Bali offers many natural attractions around the island. Each of them offers a unique glimpse into the rich cultural and natural beauty of Bali, making them favourites among both local and international tourists. Here are some recommended best attraction to visit in Bali:

  1. Nusa Penida, an island off the southeast coast of Bali and can be reached by a 45-minute fast boat ride from Sanur Harbour. This small island is known for its stunning crystal-clear beaches such as Kelingking Beach with its dramatic cliff view. Nusa Penida is a perfect spot for snorkelling and diving. Tourists particularly enjoy the remote, less crowded feel of the island, making it an ideal escape from the mainland.
  2. Mount Batur, located in Kintamani, Bangli, can be reached with a two-hour drive from Ubud or Kuta. The sunrise trek is highly recommended, offering breathtaking views of Lake Batur and the surrounding mountains. Adventure seekers particularly enjoy the thrilling climb and the rewarding panoramic views.
  3. Uluwatu Temple, located in Pecatu, South Kuta, is approximately a 45-minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. What makes this temple stand out is its dramatic location on a cliff, offering spectacular sunset views. Visitors are particularly drawn to the mesmerising Kecak dance performances that take place at dusk.
  4. The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud, just a 10-minute drive from the town centre, is easily accessible by foot or taxi. This sanctuary is home to hundreds of playful monkeys and ancient temple ruins. Visitors love observing the monkeys in their natural habitat, as well as exploring the tranquil forest and its serene atmosphere.
  5. The Tegallalang Rice Terraces in Ubud, located about 20 minutes from the town by scooter, car, or an organised tour, are another must-see. These iconic, terraced rice fields provide a peaceful and scenic walk, with tourists especially enjoying the panoramic views and excellent photo opportunities amidst the green landscape.
  6. Tirta Empul Temple, situated in Tampaksiring, Gianyar, is about 30 minutes from Ubud by car or scooter. It is famous for its holy spring water, where locals and tourists partake in purification rituals. The serene atmosphere and unique cultural experience draw many visitors, offering a peaceful and reflective moment during their visit.
  7. Tanah Lot Temple in Beraban Village, Tabanan, is about a 45-minute drive from Seminyak or Kuta, accessible by taxi or car hire. As one of Bali’s most iconic landmarks, this sea temple is set on a rock formation surrounded by the ocean. Tourists are especially drawn to its beautiful sunset views and the sacred atmosphere that surrounds the temple.
  8. Besakih Temple, located in Besakih Village, Karangasem, is a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Ubud or Kuta. It is best accessed by car hire or guided tour. Known as Bali’s Mother Temple, Besakih is the largest and holiest Hindu temple complex on the island. Visitors appreciate its spiritual significance and the panoramic views of Mount Agung, making it a place of deep cultural and religious importance.
  9. Sekumpul Waterfall in Sawan, Buleleng, North Bali, is roughly 2.5 hours by car or scooter from Ubud or Kuta. Some trekking is required to reach the falls, but the effort is well worth it. Considered Bali’s most beautiful waterfall, Sekumpul features multiple cascades set against a backdrop of lush jungle. Visitors, especially nature enthusiasts, love the immersive rainforest trek and the stunning natural beauty.
  10. Goa Gajah, also known as the Elephant Cave, is situated in Ubud, Gianyar, just a 10-minute drive from the town centre by taxi or scooter. This archaeological site holds significant cultural and spiritual importance. Tourists enjoy exploring the ancient cave, admiring the intricate stone carvings, and wandering through the surrounding gardens, which possess a mystical charm.
