Baubau is the name of a city in Buton Island which part of the Southeast Sulawesi Province. Before the existence of Perda No. 02 year 2010, the writing of the name was separated, namely "Bau-bau". Referring to Law No. 13 of 2001, Baubau obtained the status of "City" since June 21, 2001.
