Positives - checking in was easy, we don’t arrive until after midnight so 24 hour desk was good. Bedroom was large. Bathroom seemed to have been renovated more recently than the bedroom. Was small, but clean. Location was perfect for what we needed it for, which was easy access to trams going to Albert Park for the F1. Negatives - the bed was absolutely terrible. Hard and springy, probably one of the worst beds I have experienced in a hotel. After 2 nights of next to no sleep and a sore back, I ended up having to spend money on a mattress topper at Big W just to make it bearable. Also, the shower seemed fine the first 2 days, good pressure and temperature. But the last 2 days we were lucky to get a lukewarm shower, despite running the hot water for 10 minutes waiting for it to heat up. At first I thought maybe it was due to us have showers during ‘high volume’ times, but I experienced the same issue at 4am - so that theory went out the window. Overall, I would not agree that this is a 4 star hotel. We were there over F1 weekend, so prices everywhere were ridiculous everywhere, but I’m not sure how a hotel can justify charging $700 a night and then provide such poor beds and cold showers.

Look….. for a last minute change in my plans, it was fine. Exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds for a very reasonable price; located a very useful locale. However the noise of people using the lift and entering/exiting their rooms and feeling the need to yell at the tops of their voices made sleep almost unattainable. Which is a shame. The noisy A/C almost fixed the noise concern!

The a/c in room 823 was so noisy, went and seem reception and they were very helpful, they changed us into another room 1121 which we thought great the a/c was quiet, but it was right beside the elevators, this was late at night so it was not busy, but come about 5:30 in the morning when people start leaving the hotel the noise for the lift going up and down all the time was very annoying, we did not complain as we did not want to seem to be whinges but on check out we told the reception about the problem and it the same old story we will advise maintenance. I will say this the staff at hotel were great, the breakfast was great just the rooms we in were very noisy. Will never stay at this hotel ever again, Definitely not value for money, look elsewhere.
