I had a wonderful stay at Princesa Garden Island Resort on Christmas Eve! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring a seamless check-in and a comfortable experience throughout. My room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. One of the highlights was the thoughtful gesture of giving a gift to our toddler, which made the holiday season even more special. The breakfast buffet and festive decorations added a cozy touch to our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again in the future!

We had a pleasant stay at Panja Resort. The staff are friendly. The place is near Baker's Hill (one of the tourist spots included in the city tour), around 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel. Mitra's Ranch is also near it, but we were not able to go there due to our time limit. They also have a free ride from and to Robinsons mall. You may want to check their schedules. Also, they have free airport transfer from the hotel (only).

The accommodation is worth the price. The room is clean and the front desk catered to our needs as expected. Staffs are approachable too. Breakfast is good though it's a small portion. It's okay though, we had a breakfast buffet on our last day there. There's also a free shuttle service going to the airport. All in all, it was a good experience.

This affordability, particularly when compared to popular tourist spots in other countries, allows travellers from the US, Europe, and India to extend their stays, indulge in more activities, or simply enjoy a higher standard of accommodation and dining within their budget. The perceived value here is not just in the low cost, but in the rich experiences that can be accessed without financial strain, making it an attractive proposition for budget-conscious explorers.

The accommodation landscape in Napsan mirrors its diverse offerings, ranging from the rustic charm of Kiao Beach, known for its surfing and snorkeling opportunities, to the more established comfort of Kaibigan Soul Camp, which boasts a private beach and a host of amenities. What to Eat and Where to Find It in Napsan

Napsan's culinary landscape is a vibrant reflection of the Philippines' rich gastronomic heritage, offering a delightful array of flavours that are both familiar and uniquely regional. A must-try is the *Kinilaw*, a Filipino ceviche where fresh raw fish is marinated in vinegar, calamansi juice, and spices, offering a zesty and refreshing start to any meal. For those seeking heartier fare, *Adobo*, the national dish, is prepared in various ways, often featuring chicken or pork simmered in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns, providing a savoury and comforting taste of Filipino home cooking.

Exploring the local food scene in Napsan means venturing into its bustling markets and neighbourhood eateries. Areas like San Pedro and the central Napsan district are known for their *carinderias* (small, local eateries) that serve authentic Filipino dishes at incredibly affordable prices. For Muslim travellers, finding Halal-certified eateries might require a bit more research, but many establishments are accommodating and can prepare dishes according to specific dietary needs if requested in advance, especially in more tourist-oriented areas.

The cost of dining in Napsan offers exceptional value for international visitors. Street food and meals at local *carinderias* can range from ₱50 to ₱150 (approximately $1 to $3 USD), providing a delicious and budget-friendly way to sample local flavours. Mid-range restaurants typically charge between ₱300 to ₱800 (approximately $6 to $16 USD) per person for a full meal, while more upscale dining experiences might reach ₱1,000 to ₱2,000 (approximately $20 to $40 USD) per person. This affordability allows travellers from the US, Europe, and India to enjoy diverse culinary experiences without significant financial strain.

When dining in Napsan, embracing local customs enhances the experience. Meals are typically communal, with dishes shared among diners. Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated for excellent service, with a small amount (around 5-10%) being customary. It's polite to wait for your host or the eldest person at the table to begin eating. Many Filipinos eat with a spoon and fork, using the fork to push food onto the spoon, a practice that can be adopted for a more authentic dining experience.

Cultural Norms and Staying Safe in Napsan

Understanding local etiquette is key to a respectful and enjoyable visit to Napsan. Filipinos are known for their warmth and hospitality, often greeting visitors with smiles and a friendly demeanor. It's customary to use your right hand when giving or receiving items, as the left hand is sometimes considered unclean. When visiting someone's home or a more traditional establishment, it's polite to remove your shoes before entering. Showing respect for elders is paramount, and addressing them with titles like "Ate" (older sister) or "Kuya" (older brother) is a common practice.

When visiting landmarks or engaging in activities, maintaining a respectful attitude is appreciated. Dress modestly when visiting religious sites, covering shoulders and knees. While photography is generally allowed, it's always best to ask for permission before taking pictures of individuals, especially in more rural or traditional settings. Queuing is generally observed, but patience is a virtue, as things may move at a more relaxed pace than in some Western countries. Embracing this laid-back approach will help you navigate interactions smoothly.

For international travellers, safety in Napsan is generally good, but standard precautions should always be taken. Keep your valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded markets or public transport. For transportation, reputable taxi services and ride-hailing apps like Grab are available and generally reliable. It's advisable to use official airport taxis or pre-booked transfers upon arrival. Familiarizing yourself with offline maps and essential travel apps can also be very helpful for navigation and communication.

In case of emergencies, the local police can be contacted via the national emergency number. For medical assistance, inquire about the nearest hospital or clinic upon arrival at your accommodation. It's also wise to have the contact details for your country's embassy or consulate in the Philippines readily available. For Filipino travellers, understanding travel advisories from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is crucial. Carrying travel insurance is highly recommended to cover any unforeseen medical expenses or travel disruptions.

Philippine citizens can travel freely within the country. However, it is always recommended to carry a valid government-issued ID, such as a passport or driver's license, for identification purposes, especially when checking into hotels or boarding domestic flights.
