"The capital city of Palawan is known for having the Puerto Princesa Underground River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can go island hopping around Honda Bay and visit Starfish Island, Luli Island, and Cowrie Island. At night, go to Iwahig River for a half an hour paddleboat ride to see sparkling fireflies and planktons. Feeling adventurous? Try their local delicacy called tamilok (woodworms)."

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the sunset from that point was mesmerizing.

The accommodation is worth the price. The room is clean and the front desk catered to our needs as expected. Staffs are approachable too. Breakfast is good though it's a small portion. It's okay though, we had a breakfast buffet on our last day there. There's also a free shuttle service going to the airport. All in all, it was a good experience.

The place was great. Very IG-worthy. We had the standard room. It was clean, and fairly nice. They have hot and cold shower, cable tv, hair dryer, and complete personal necessities. The place though is quite secluded. However, they offer free airport transfer for travellers. I recommend this hotel to everyone 💯

I stayed particularly in room 310 which is by far very spacious. The bed is very tidy, pillows and comforter were near 5 star hotel quality. There is a large flat screen tv, coffee desk, big windows, cabinet with so many hangers, dividers, enough to unpack all your stuff. The cr and bathroom is spotless clean. I just hope there is a separate hand soap in the hand wash tub. Bidet is a great addition, good job! Towels are quite clean. I arrived early and I tried to ask the front desk if they can let me in my room I'll be checking out by 8am the next day instead of 12 noon standard check out. They are very firm with the 2am standard check in and didn't want to reconsider. That's very rude for me especially there is no occupants when I arrived which they can easily accept me.

We were amazed how clean and spacious the room was. Toilet was so clean and with complete amenities too. Fast wifi connection and a nice small balcony. Breakfast is included and great food served with coffee. They have nice small restaurant by the pool. amazing pool. Great location. Close to Robinsons. The hotel can also help you organize tours. Pick up at the hotel itself which is very convenient. Staff are helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this hotel for couples, family or with friends. No complaints, we were very happy during our stay.

Booked the standard room for 4d/3n since it’s very close to the airport maybe about 10mins drive. Hotel amenities: the hotel offers swimming pool access for all guest however the pool was not clean everyday so we’re hesitant to take a dip. Hotel ambiance: what you see is what you get. However during night time there’s a lot of mosquitoes because the area is surrounded by plants/grass and not enough lighting. Hotel staff: very accommodating and approachable. The kitchen staff cooks well. Hotel room: the room was clean and wrinkled-free. Air-conditioning is good. The bathroom was clean and they have free shampoo and body wash ready. However during night time the mosquitoes are coming from somewhere and loitering inside are room.

To reach farther destinations, jeepneys and multicabs also ply on the streets going to specific areas. Most tourists, particularly those who have big groups, rent vans for hire for a more comfortable way to tour Puerto Princesa.

Tourist Attractions

Puerto Princesa Underground River

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, or commonly known as Underground River, is definitely the city’s ultimate pride and joy. Not only is it a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was also hailed as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Many tourists make sure to add this amazing 8.2- kilometer river on their to-do list. One will not really mind the hour-long tour because of the remarkable rock formations and stalactites to see inside the cave.

Honda Bay

Honda Bay is also a favorite destination for visitors. Clear blue waters, white sand beaches, and breathtaking marine life welcome everyone. It features several islands where one can swim, snorkel, or bask in the beauty of nature. Also, the rich flora and fauna of Puerto Princesa will definitely open your eyes to the wonders of the world that people, especially those who live in the concrete jungle, will rarely encounter.

Batak Cultural Village

The Batak Cultural Village allows travelers to see a little of Puerto Princesa’s heritage. This is home to the Batak mountain people who are considered one of Palawan’s indigenous tribes. There’s also a mini museum where souvenirs are sold.

Top Things to Do

Sabang Beach

To swim, dive, snorkel, sunbathe, or explore? This is perhaps the biggest problem many travelers encounter when visiting Puerto Princesa. Having the same dilemma? Then try them all. Start your journey with some island hopping at Honda Bay. From there, go ahead and swim with the fishes or enjoy lunch picnics with your group. If you don’t like too crowded beaches, head over to Nagtabon or Marufinas.

Another awesome experience you should try is going to the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center or more popularly called as the Crocodile Farm. This is a great opportunity to encounter these cold-blooded reptiles in a controlled environment. Don’t forget to take a selfie to show off to your friends.

Where to Eat

Featuring a wide selection of restaurants and other food options in Puerto Princesa, make sure to try different cuisines for each meal. Chow down on tasty seafood dishes in Ka Lui while feasting your eyes on the indigenous paintings and artworks peppered around the place. Make sure to reserve your table in advance so you can enjoy a scrumptious lunch or dinner without the long wait.

Tamilok

Following a healthy diet? La Terrasse takes pride in serving organic food that is locally sourced from their own garden or other organic farmers. Meanwhile, exotic food choices await the brave ones with adventurous stomachs. The tamilok (shipworm) and crocodile sisig/meat are a must-try at Kinabuch Grill and Bar.

Nightlife

A veritable nature destination, the nightlife in Puerto Princesa is laidback. Kinabuch Grill & Bar offers a great atmosphere for those who wants to grab a drink or eat a hearty meal before hitting the sack. Partying all night long is not really the thing here for most travelers since they want to prepare for yet another big day of exploring the wonders of Mother Earth.
