Bed is super comfortable. Location is perfect if you bring your own car. Very close to bus stop.

We stayed at Mercure Oxford Eastgate during our daughter’s university visits, and the location couldn’t have been better, perfect for exploring the nearby colleges, visiting historical sites, enjoying a stroll through the botanical garden, or even renting a rowboat, all without having to battle the crowds. The room was clean, well-equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. Parking in Oxford was particularly scarce during our stay due to the graduation season. While the hotel had kindly reserved a space in the backlot following my email request, I found it extremely difficult to maneuver our XL-size rental SUV through the narrow carriage port leading to the lot. It would have been possible, but quite challenging, especially with an unfamiliar vehicle. The hotel staff were friendly, understanding, and helpful, offering suggestions for alternative car parks nearby. After some circling and patience, I was able to find a spot across the canal, within walking distance. It was a pleasant and productive stay. If our daughter is fortunate enough to study in Oxford, this will be our home away from home whenever we visit. Thank you so much!
