Kampung Baru MRT is a landmark of a mass rapid transit station situated in central part of capital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, serving a single line that forms part of the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line. The station is expected to open in the year 2022 as a part of line’s second segment consisting of more than thirty stations between future Damansara Damai and Putrajaya Sentral stations. This particular station is planned to be an underground station and expected to have an island platform design for bi-directional trains. To access the underground level, it is connected to the ground level via escalators and elevators.

Other facilities would include feeder buses, kiosks, shops, park and ride facilities, toilets, bus Stops as well as taxi stands. The benefit of such design is to bypass the road traffic and to avoid the railway from becoming a blocking point for the road users. It is the only MRT station expected to serve the Kampung Baru area in addition to the already established and operational Kampung Baru LRT station. How to Get There

By Car

People driving from Kuala Lumpur may drive through the Jalan Damansara Sultan Iskandar HIghway for immediate access to Kampung Baru MRT at Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz. The journey could take up around twelve minutes depending on the current traffic situation.

By Train

From Kuala Lumpur International Airport, visitors can catch the Express Rail Link (ERL) train which goes to KL Sentral/Bandar Tasik Putrajaya/Cyberjaya/Salak Tinggi/KLIA route. There, one can board the Light Rail Transit (LRT) coach heading to Gombak and stop by the Kampung Baru LRT station which is really close to the MRT station site.
