The Coron municipality is a 1st class municipality in the Palawan region of the Philippines. It is the capital of the Calamian Islands trade. The airport is located on Busuanga Island in the province of Palawan, Philippines. The airport was named after Francisco B. Reyes on 10 November 2008. He was Mayor of Coron from 1936 to 1939 who donated land forming an airport complex. The airport is classified as Class 2 (small domestic) airport by the Philippine Civil Aviation Authority, a Transport and Communications Department body responsible for the operation of all airports in the Philippines except for major international airports. Farms used for raising cattle are surrounding the airport. Grass grown on the ground was imported from Australia.
