About Bunder Terminal

To the west of Terminal Bunder, there is the KH Ahmad Dahlan Mosque complex. In addition to serving as a place of worship, this mosque is frequently used by travelers and pilgrims as a rest area, providing extra comfort during their visit.

Terminal Bunder covers an area of approximately 35,800 square meters and is divided into two main sections: the bus terminal on the northern side, managed by the East Java Provincial Government, and the city transport terminal on the southern side, which is under the management of the Gresik Regency Government. The terminal offers various types of public transportation, including city transport, rural transport, boundary transport, Trans Jatim services, intermodal transport, and intercity buses. With its comprehensive facilities and strategic location, Terminal Bunder serves as a major transportation hub in Gresik Regency, providing a range of travel options for passengers and commuters.

The intermodal transport connecting Terminal Bunder with Juanda International Airport is operated by Perum DAMRI's Surabaya branch. The service uses medium-sized buses with a capacity of 27 passengers, featuring amenities such as air conditioning, reclining seats, television, audio systems, and luggage compartments. Bus departures are scheduled from 05:00 to 17:00 WIB, with approximately 60-minute intervals between each departure.

Additionally, the stop at Terminal Bunder is also a key point for Trans Jatim Corridor 1, which connects Terminal Bunder with Terminal Purabaya and Terminal Porong. This corridor is part of the Trans Jatim network, which began operations on August 19, 2022. The stop is located in the main terminal building and serves as the starting point for Trans Jatim routes to Terminal Porong, operating daily from 05:00 to 21:00 WIB.

Bus Services at Terminal Bunder

1. Short-Distance and Medium-Distance Buses

Following the closure of Terminal Sidomoro in 1997, intercity buses were no longer permitted to travel through the main roads in the urban area of Gresik. Instead, intercity bus routes were redirected via the Surabaya-Gresik Toll Road, exiting at the Kebomas Toll Gate. Buses were then required to enter Terminal Bunder. Today, Terminal Bunder serves as the primary starting point for intercity buses departing from Surabaya, whether from Terminal Purabaya or Terminal Tambak Osowilangon, before continuing their journeys to various cities along the northern coast and central routes of Java Island.

Terminal Bunder accommodates several intercity bus routes, including:

• Surabaya - Cepu/Purwodadi
• Surabaya - Semarang/Jepara
• Bojonegoro - Malang/Jember
• Probolinggo - Cirebon/Kuningan

2. Long-Distance Buses

Terminal Bunder provides long-distance intercity bus services connecting various major cities across Indonesia. These routes include destinations such as Denpasar, Cirebon, Bandung, Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Merak, as well as several cities in Sumatra. For these long journeys, the terminal offers large buses (bigbus) with non-economy class amenities, commonly referred to as night buses.

Tickets for long-distance buses can be purchased at official ticket counters or agents within the terminal area. As of 2021, Terminal Bunder hosts 14 bus companies that provide these services.
