Airport guidance places scheduled buses outside Level 1 Baggage Claim Door 2, Zones B4 and B5. Choose the route by its city endpoint.
The RTA 202 Airport Express serves downtown. Airport guidance identifies Elk Place at Cleveland and Union Passenger Terminal/Bus Bay 2 as city stops.
The airport describes the Veterans-Airport E1 as serving City Park Avenue. It is a different operator and route from the RTA 202 downtown service.
Taxis collect passengers on the arrivals curb outside Level 1 Baggage Claim Door 7. This is separate from the middle-curb ride-app area.
The airport directs Lyft passengers through Doors 7–9 to the middle curb. Follow the app's matching instructions once ready with the bags.
The airport directs Uber passengers through Doors 9–11 to the middle curb. The app and airport signs identify the matching or pickup process for the selected service.
The rental vehicle is collected at a separate Rental Car Center. Use the airport shuttle reached from Level 1 towards the Long Term Parking Garage.
Use 1 Terminal Drive, Kenner. The Rental Car Center has a different address, 600 Rental Boulevard, and its own collection and return instructions.
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) serves New Orleans from its passenger terminal in Kenner. Its ground options have different pickup points: buses outside Door 2, taxis at Door 7 and ride apps on the middle curb outside baggage claim. Rental cars require a shuttle to a separate facility, which adds another stage before the road journey begins.
The RTA Airport Express 202 serves downtown New Orleans, with airport guidance identifying Elk Place at Cleveland and Union Passenger Terminal/Bus Bay 2 as city stops. RTA's current route list also includes the 202 Airport Express.
This is a useful choice for a stay or onward journey near those stops. Include the final trip to the accommodation, especially when carrying several bags. A downtown bus stop is a specific endpoint rather than a hotel-by-hotel service.
The airport lists Jefferson Transit’s Veterans-Airport E1 service to City Park Avenue. It is a different route and operator from the RTA 202, so choose by the actual onward address.
Airport guidance places scheduled buses on Level 1 outside Baggage Claim Door 2, Zones B4 and B5. It also distinguishes JET and RTA ticket validity: an ordinary ticket for one system should not automatically be treated as a transfer entitlement on the other.
MSY's taxi loading zone is outside Level 1 Baggage Claim Door 7 on the arrivals curb. It provides a direct road option for a French Quarter hotel, a Central Business District address or another destination.
A taxi can be simpler than a bus-plus-local-transfer journey for a group with luggage. Use the dedicated taxi area; the ride-app collection lane is a separate arrangement even when it is reached from nearby doors.
The airport directs Lyft passengers through Doors 7–9 and Uber passengers through Doors 9–11, crossing to the middle curb. Follow the selected service's app instructions for the actual matching or queue process.
Wait until the party and bags are ready for collection before arranging the final pickup. Standing at a numbered terminal door alone does not place a passenger in the correct app collection lane.
The Rental Car Center is at 600 Rental Boulevard, Kenner. From Level 1 baggage claim, walk towards the Long Term Parking Garage to reach the rental-car shuttle.
Allow for that transfer when arranging the first appointment or returning a car for a departure. A reservation at the Rental Car Center does not mean the vehicle is parked immediately outside the baggage carousel.
The passenger terminal's address is 1 Terminal Drive, Kenner. Use it for an airport drop-off or private pickup, and use the rental company's facility instructions when returning a car.
For a city stay, compare the bus endpoint with a direct taxi or app journey. For travel beyond New Orleans, compare the rental-car collection stage with the wider driving itinerary. Those choices change the complete arrival plan even when the flight into MSY is the same.
