Preparing a journey from the Philippines? Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) is in Pudong, about 30 km east of central Shanghai, China. Confirm the airport code as well as the terminal before arranging a transfer or choosing a connecting itinerary. Pudong Airport handles domestic and international flights through two main passenger terminals, T1 and T2. Shanghai's other airport, Hongqiao, uses SHA.
China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines use Terminal 1 at PVG. Other T1 carriers include Vietnam Airlines, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Japan Airlines, Korean Air and Delta Air Lines. Find your operating airline and terminal on the e-ticket, particularly if the flight is sold under a partner airline's code.
Terminal 2 airlines include Batik Air Malaysia, AirAsia and AirAsia X, alongside Air China, China Southern Airlines, Juneyao Airlines and Spring Airlines. Singapore Airlines and Emirates also use T2. These examples are a starting point for planning your arrival at Pudong; check the terminal on your e-ticket for the flight you book.
The airside people mover connects T1 with satellite hall S1 and T2 with S2. Check in at the main terminal first, then follow the boarding-pass directions towards your departure area. Include the journey to the satellite when planning a meal or shopping stop. The landside shuttle serves P4, T1 and T2; it is separate from the airside train to the satellites.
Metro Line 2 serves Pudong Airport Terminal 1 & 2 station and connects with Shanghai's metro network. It also serves Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2. Check the destination station and any onward change required for your hotel or meeting address. At PVG, follow the rail signs for the station serving both main terminals.
The Maglev connects Pudong Airport T1 & T2 station with Longyang Road. You can change there to Metro Line 2 for an onward city journey. Longyang Road is the rail connection point, so plan the remaining leg to your destination rather than treating the Maglev as a direct service to every downtown district.
The Airport Link Line connects Pudong's Terminal 1 & 2 station with Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2. Check whether your next flight uses Hongqiao T1 or T2 before selecting this transfer. For a road journey, use the designated taxi ranks at Pudong's terminal arrivals areas and provide a full destination address.
Pudong Airport has P1 and P2 terminal car parks and long-stay parking at P4. A shuttle links P4 with T1 and T2. Choose the car park for the length of your stay, and allow time to reach the terminal after parking. If collecting someone, establish their arrival terminal and agree a meeting point before driving to PVG.
Dining is available in the airport terminals and satellite halls. Locate the departure area assigned to your flight before settling down for food, so your meal fits around the terminal or satellite journey. Recheck the boarding information while you wait and return to your departure area with time for the remaining steps.
T1 and T2 have left-luggage facilities. For a connection, ask the airline whether your checked bags continue to the next flight or must be collected. Use the storage facility in the terminal you can access, and keep the collection arrangements in mind when planning a trip away from the airport.
Free passenger Wi-Fi is available at PVG. Travellers without a Chinese SIM card can use passport recognition on the login page; follow its verification instructions. Rest areas are available in the terminals and satellite halls, with free seating areas and separate paid rest facilities. Shower facilities are in international arrivals and international-to-domestic transfer areas of T1 and T2. Ask staff which facility is accessible on your connection path before leaving that area.
Read your airline's check-in advice and allow for the route from the main terminal to a satellite departure area. On an international connection, check the transfer and entry requirements that apply to your own itinerary. For updates to a booked service, use Traveloka's flight status page alongside airline messages and the airport displays.
Use the flight cards to compare itineraries using Pudong Airport. The flight schedule tables show departures and arrivals by date, airline and scheduled time. Match the PVG code with your booking and check whether another leg uses SHA at Hongqiao. Search the route and dates you need for your Shanghai journey.
Choose your itinerary on Traveloka, then plan the journey to the Pudong terminal shown on your ticket.
