Zhuhai Jinwan Airport serves the coastal city of Zhuhai in Guangdong province, on the western side of the Pearl River Delta across the water from Hong Kong. It opened for civil flights in 1995 and was known for years as Zhuhai Sanzao Airport before taking its current name from Jinwan District. The codes are ZUH (IATA) and ZGSD (ICAO).
Every other year the airport also becomes a showground. It hosts Airshow China, the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, which fills the skies with aerobatic displays and draws large crowds to the area.
The airport lies in Sanzao Town, in the far south-west of Zhuhai. Road distance to downtown Zhuhai and the Gongbei border crossing with Macau is roughly 40 to 50 kilometres, so allow around an hour by road.
The airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is the original building, and Terminal 2 was added to expand capacity. Inside you will find restaurants, convenience stores, charging points and waiting lounges.
China Southern Airlines is the focus carrier. Other airlines serving the airport include Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Shandong Airlines and Hainan Airlines, with a network centred on cities across mainland China. Check the timetable for the routes running on your dates.
