Langkawi receives more than 2,400 mm of rain annually. Langkawi has a dry season from December until February. From March to November, Langkawi experiences long rainy season. September is the wettest month as it normally receives more than 500 mm of rain.
There are various ways for you to get to Langkawi from Singapore. From Singapore, you can take a fight or using a ferry from Malaysia. The airport is located in Padang Matsirat, Langkawi. There are several airlines that provides a flight from Singapore to Langkawi such as AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and Malindo Air. However, only AirAsia provides a direct flight from Singapore to Langkawi. The other two airlines need to transit at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia first before making a flight to Langkawi. The cheapest airfare is offered by AirAsia with SGD 86 only for a two-way flight. When you have reached Langkawi International Airport, you can take a taxi or rent a car to get to the city centre. Airport taxi counters are located at the baggage claim area and terminal exit. One-way taxi fares from the airport are fixed. You want to get to Langkawi by using land transportation. Take a bus at Tampines, Katong, Boon Lay or Golden Mile Complex stations to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. When you have reached TBS, you can take another bus from TBS to Kuala Perlis, Perlis to get to the jetty. The jetty available in Kuala Perlis is call Kuala Perlis Ferry Terminal. From TBS, take a bus to Kuala Perlis Bus Terminal. The journey from TBS to Kuala Perlis will take up to 5 hours and 27 minutes depending on the traffic conditions at that time. When you have arrived at Kuala Perlis Bus Terminal, you have to walk only 5 minutes to the Kuala Perlis Ferry Terminal and then take the ferry to Langkawi. Travelling from Kuala Perlis Ferry Terminal to Kuah Jetty will take up to 1 hour and 19 minutes by using ferry. When you have arrived at Kuah Jetty, you can rent a car or take a taxi to your hotel or the city centre.
Langkawi Cable Car
The Langkawi Cable Car is one of the major attractions in Langkawi. It is also known as Langkawi SkyCab. It is located at Jalan Telaga Tujuh, Langkawi.
