If you are visiting KL for the first time, don't hesitate to stay here. It's clean and super friendly. It's very close to Jalan Alor and Pavilion. It's the most strategic location. There's free coffee, free bread for breakfast, a microwave, and an iron on the reception floor. It's really worth it. If I go to KL again, I'll stay here.

The staff were very kind and any questions I had were answered immediately. Everything about the double suite room was excellent. There were no problems with the hot water in the shower or bath. The Wi-Fi was fast and stress-free. The breakfast had a wide variety of food, from Malaysian to Japanese, and the drinks were also plentiful, including freshly squeezed juices. There were no problems with small children, including a one-year-old. The location is a little off the main road, about a five-minute walk, so it is unsafe for a woman to be alone at night. On a positive note, it is a quiet location.

We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights; the lobby and indoor/outdoor areas were clean, the staff was friendly, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The bedroom was quite spacious, with a comfortable bed, a TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, water heater, and a clean bathroom. Upon check-out, you can leave your luggage and bags with the hotel lobby staff if you want to go sightseeing. Staying here is a great option if you're attending an event at Zepp KL, as it's very close. Next door is Resto Berempah, which serves delicious Malaysian cuisine at affordable prices.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The location is very strategic, right in the heart of Bukit Bintang, which is always busy 24/7. It's only a five-minute walk to Pavilion and Lot 10. There are also many eateries around the hotel. The MRT station and buses are just a short walk away. Although this is an older hotel, the facilities are quite complete. The staff are friendly, and the hotel also provides luggage storage, so you can still explore after checking out. The room rate is also worth it for the BB location.

More about hotels in Bukit Bintang

Hotels in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur — Your Complete Guide

Bukit Bintang is the beating heart of Kuala Lumpur. Known as the Golden Triangle, this district is home to the city's most vibrant shopping malls, street food alleys, and entertainment venues. Staying in Bukit Bintang places you at the centre of everything KL has to offer, from world-class retail therapy at Pavilion KL to the sizzling wok-fried noodles of Jalan Alor. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a returning traveller, Bukit Bintang hotels offer unmatched convenience for exploring the Malaysian capital. Traveloka lists a wide selection of Bukit Bintang hotels starting from RM 70/night, ranging from compact budget guesthouses to internationally branded five-star luxury properties.

Best Areas to Stay in Bukit Bintang

Bukit Bintang is not one single street — it encompasses several micro-neighbourhoods, each with a distinct character and price range. Choosing the right zone within Bukit Bintang ensures you get the atmosphere and value that suits your trip.

Jalan Bukit Bintang and Pavilion KL

This is the main artery of the district. Walking along Jalan Bukit Bintang, you pass Pavilion KL, Starhill Gallery, and Lot 10 — three of KL's most prominent shopping destinations. The area is also the closest point to Jalan Alor, KL's most famous hawker food street. Hotels along Jalan Bukit Bintang tend to be on the higher end of the price scale, reflecting their prime location.

Budget: RM 90–160/night  |  Mid-range: RM 200–400/night  |  Luxury: RM 500–1,500/night

Changkat Bukit Bintang

Changkat is KL's most famous bar and nightlife street. Lined with rooftop bars, live music venues, and international restaurants, it draws a younger crowd and solo travellers. Hotels here tend to be boutique-style properties with modern design and compact rooms. It is a 5-minute walk from Changkat to Pavilion KL and Jalan Alor.

Budget: RM 70–130/night  |  Mid-range: RM 160–320/night  |  Luxury: RM 400–900/night

Berjaya Times Square and Imbi

The southern end of Bukit Bintang around Berjaya Times Square offers a slightly quieter atmosphere and better value. Berjaya Times Square itself is a massive complex with an indoor theme park, cinema, and hundreds of retail outlets. The Imbi area has numerous service apartments and mid-range hotels that deliver excellent value per ringgit compared to properties closer to Pavilion KL.

Budget: RM 70–120/night  |  Mid-range: RM 150–280/night  |  Luxury: RM 350–700/night

Hotel Prices in Bukit Bintang by Star Rating

Hotel prices in Bukit Bintang vary considerably depending on the star rating and exact location within the district. Here is a guide to what you can expect to pay per night.

2-star and budget hotels: RM 70–150/night. These include hostels, capsule hotels, and compact guesthouses. Rooms are small but functional, often with shared facilities. Ideal for backpackers and short-stay visitors who spend most of their time outside the hotel.

3-star hotels: RM 130–250/night. A good balance of comfort and value. Most 3-star hotels in Bukit Bintang offer private bathrooms, basic breakfast, and air-conditioned rooms with WiFi. Properties in this range include popular chains and well-reviewed independent hotels.

4-star hotels: RM 250–500/night. Premium comfort with fitness centres, swimming pools, and in-house restaurants. Hotels such as Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur, Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, and Royale Chulan Bukit Bintang fall into this category. Many offer connecting rooms for families.

5-star hotels: RM 500–1,500/night. World-class luxury including The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, The Westin Kuala Lumpur, JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, and The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur. These properties feature spa facilities, executive lounges, and concierge services. Some offer direct views of the Petronas Twin Towers from upper-floor rooms.

Best Time to Visit Bukit Bintang

Bukit Bintang is a year-round destination since it is an urban shopping and dining district rather than a seasonal beach or nature destination. However, hotel prices and availability are affected by peak travel periods. The most expensive times to book Bukit Bintang hotels are during Chinese New Year (January or February), the June school holidays, and the December year-end holiday season. During these periods, rates can be 30–50% higher than normal, and popular hotels sell out weeks in advance. The best value periods are typically March to May and September to October, when weekday hotel rates are at their lowest. KL's weather is warm and humid year-round with average temperatures of 27–33°C. Brief afternoon thunderstorms are common from October to March but rarely disrupt sightseeing as most Bukit Bintang attractions are indoors or covered.

Getting to Bukit Bintang

Bukit Bintang is one of the best-connected areas in Kuala Lumpur, with multiple public transport options converging in the district.

From KL International Airport (KLIA/KLIA2): Take the KLIA Ekspres train to KL Sentral station (28–33 minutes), then transfer to the KL Monorail and ride to Bukit Bintang station. The total journey takes approximately 50–60 minutes. Alternatively, Grab and airport taxis take 45–75 minutes depending on traffic, costing RM 70–120.

By MRT: Bukit Bintang MRT station on the Kajang Line connects directly to KLCC (1 stop), Merdeka Square, and suburbs across the Klang Valley. This is the fastest way to travel between Bukit Bintang and KLCC.

By Monorail: The Bukit Bintang Monorail station is on Jalan Bukit Bintang, providing connections to KL Sentral, Chow Kit, and Titiwangsa.

By Grab: Bukit Bintang is centrally located and Grab rides from most parts of KL cost RM 8–25. There are designated pickup points near Pavilion KL and Lot 10.
