  • Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - This is the largest mosque in the UAE that can hold up to 40 000 people at the same time. It was named after the President himself, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who passed away before the mosque was completely done. It took over $500 million to complete. Be mesmerised with the architecture design of the mosque that has seven crystal chandeliers imported from Germany. The general visiting times are Saturday to Thursday from 9 am to 10 pm. Nevertheless, it is important to note that the visiting hours for tourists on Friday opens after 4.30 pm. In Ramadhan, the visiting hours are from 9 am to 2 pm but closed all day on Fridays. You are required to dress respectably. For women, the Abaya's are available for hire. It is free of charge.
