About Narathiwat

Narathiwat is a town known as the Saban Mueang situated in southern Thailand and capital of Narathiwat District. Narathiwat is in the Mueang Narathiwat area and was established in early 193. As of 2008, the population was 40,522. Narathiwat lies 1,142 km south of Bangkok. Narathiwat is located on the east coast of the Malay Point, by the Gulf of Thailand. The Bang Nara River flows through the town. The direct vicinity of the town is smooth or gently rolling, but there are hills both to the south and west.
