About Dumaguete

A busy and relatively urban college town and the national capital, Dumaguete is also a helpful base for studying everything the Southern Negros have to give due in part to a large and prosperous expat community. The small town centre is as busy, noisy and chaotic as any other town in the Philippines. Still, an undeniable draw is Dumaguete's harbour-front promenade, lined with upscale restaurants, shops, and meat stores, and packed with beautiful sea views. After getting to know the area, it becomes a beautiful place to go home after a short walk to dive, stroll or swim.
