There are no direct flights from Manila to Tawi-Tawi. One of the way to enter Tawi – Tawi through the air is from Zamboanga. The trip from Zamboanga to Tawi – Tawi will take 30 – 40 minutes. Currently, only Cebu Pacific flies there with their daily flight from Zamboanga City.

The Provincial Capitol – This capitol possess the image of a mosque and it is located at the Capitol Hill. You can hire a tricycle and stop at the jump-off point going to the capitol. Fare is PhP15 from the town centre. The best time to come here is in the afternoon up to early evening as the lights from the town centre will add to the magnificent view from here. From the Capitol building, you will see the town centre of Bongao as well as the nearby islands.


Sama Dilaut Village (Badjao Village) - Badjao community can be found in Bongao. Their houses are built with stilt and stand on water and connected with narrow wooden footbridges linking households. Taking a stroll along these villages is an excellent way to experience daily local life. However, it is important to respect their privacy and ask for consent before taking photos. The Badjao community has been acclaimed for craftsmanship in making banig. It is crafted with fine details and colourful designs.
