An avid golfer? Well, guess it’s time to point your golfing compass to this very site! Nestled within the very Sentosa itself, a world-class and award-winning golf club carved out of the beautiful landscape of Singapore is none other than Sentosa Golf Club. A significant 1800 transformation, from a land of mangrove swamps and kampongs to velvety green carpets stretching across the region’s most exclusive and challenging golf courses named The New Tanjong and The Serapong. The CLub was officially opened on 14th July 1974 by our then-Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew.
Set against the Singapore Straits, the New Tanjong is modelled into a uniquely challenging course inspired by the renowned golf course architect, Alister MacKenzie’s style. The two highlighted areas at this course are the Clubhouse and the historic ‘Pyramid’ halfway house. It was soon after that, in 1982, the second course named the Serapong was created by the world-renowned golf course designer, Ronald Fream. A revamp, worth of SGD 12 million, was done in 2007 and gave it a new look and a distinguished trademark of more challenging mounds, contours and mammoth lakes with stone-lined walls. Thus, offering you a spectacular view and golfing experience like no other.
