Batang Station is a class II train station located in Batang Regency, Batang Subdistrict. The station, which is currently at an altitude of 5 meters, is included in the Semarang IV operational area.
The interesting fact about this station is that it is quite close to the beach. Currently, Batang station has four lines, where the line is a straight line leading to Semarang, while line 3 is a straight line leading to Cirebon.
The old Batang Station building was originally a stop for a small steam tram. However, the status of this station was improved to a train station and was only opened along with the Weleri-Pekalongan route on December 1, 1898. Now Batang station has four lines, previously it only had three train lines with line 1 being a straight line. and one Badug line which branches off at line 3.
When the double-track segment Pekalongan-Ujungnegoro appeared and officially started operating on July 3, 2013, the old Batang station experienced a period of deactivation because there was not enough space to add a new line at this station. However, after some time it was decided to build a new Batang station which was located 1.6 km from the old station.
