Information About Blitar Station

Blitar Station is located at an altitude of +/- 167 meters and it’s a heritage building from the Dutch East Indies period. This station was a part of Daop VII Madiun before moving to Daop VIII Surabaya on August 1st 2016.

This station was built at the same time as the Kediri-Tulungagung-Blitar railway line which is 64 kilometers long. This station was launched officially on June 16th 1884. For the first time, Blitar Station was built to help the needs of Dutch East Indies officials and businessmen at that time in terms of transportation to transport plantation and industry products.

Blitar Train Station is located in the Blitar center city, less than 500 meters from Blitar City Square. You can walk from Blitar City Square to this station. If you don’t wanna walk, you can book an online bike to take you directly to Blitar Station.

After arriving at the station, you can continue the trip to another place in Blitar City using motorized vehicles such as base taxis or online motorbike taxis. Public transportation is also available, but residents more often use two-wheeled motorbike taxis.

This station also provides various facilities such as seats, prayer rooms, and a wide parking lot. You can also find a cafe inside the station if you want to eat before getting on the train.

Unique Facts About Blitar Station

On June 1st 2023, the 2023 train journey officially took effect. Therefore, there are pattern changes to the Dhoho and Penataran Commuter Line trains. This is why Dhoho and Penataran passengers have to get off first at Blitar Station if they want to continue their journey. However, due to many complaints regarding the change in travel patterns, finally, on July 15th 2023, KAI Commuter Region VII Surabaya restored the operating pattern of the two trains.
