1. History of Bojonegoro Station

Historically, the Nederlandsch-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij (NIS) applied for permission to build a new railway line after recording profits in the 1890s. Eventually, the company obtained permission to develop a new railway line connecting Gundih-Gambringan-Bojonegoro-Surabaya, inaugurated on September 1, 1897. The station began operations on March 1, 1902, as part of the Bojonegoro-Babat railway operation. On February 1, 1903, the Gundih-Gambringan-Bojonegoro-Surabaya NIS railway project was completed.

2. Uniqueness of Bojonegoro Station

The station is characterized by the uniqueness of a bell that plays a song entitled "Pinarak Bojonegoro" in a format that combines two types of ensemble music, namely "Keroncong" and "Karawitan". The primary function of this bell is to mark the arrival of passenger trains.
