As a third-class station, Leles Station (LL) is also a small station. It is located in Kadungora Village, Kadungora District, Garut Regency, about 47.8 kilometers east of Bandung. This station is also a gate between Garut Regency and Bandung Regency. 

Meanwhile, Leles Station is located in the westernmost part of the Garut Regency, even though, as an administrative area, this station is north of Leles Districts. For people who live around it, Leles Station is also familiarly known as Kadungora Station.

This station is +697 meters above sea level and is part of Bandung Operation Area II. The Leles station has a long history and has been a part of the railway system in West Java since the Dutch colonial era. 

This Leles Station serves some types of trains, including local and long–haul trip trains. Its service reaches some destinations, such as Bandung, Jakarta, and other cities in West Java Province.

Because it is near the settlement, you can find some stores and street vendors around the station. Leles Station has provided some facilities, such as an automatic ticket machine, a waiting room, a restroom for disabilities, a parking area, a ticket office, and a visitor information center to improve the passenger’s comfort.

1. The Fascinating Panorama and The Cool Ambience

Leles station is located in a fairly high area. Mountains surround it, because this place has a fresh atmosphere and relaxed ambiance. Also, it has a fascinating panorama. This station also has two lines; line 1 is a straight railway line.

In addition, the maps between Leles Station and Lebakrejo Station have a winding path. The railway-bend formation is horseshoe-shaped. Hence, it is pretty challenging. In addition, the gap between its height is far enough, more than 100 meters. However, this line also became a favorite spot for railfans and photographer enthusiasts because it has captivating scenery when you pass this route.

2. The Location is in Kadungora

Even though this station is located in Kadungora, this station is named Leles Station. It is because the town center of Limbangan Regency moved to Garut in the past. Leles became the district's capital or authority overseeing Leles, Kadungora, Banyuresmi, and Limbangan districts. 

Besides that, the government decided to repair and renew the infrastructure due to essential guests often passing this station. While doing that, the Dutch could not speak the Sunda language clearly, he would say “les” repeatedly, implying “polished.” So people around use that as the station and area name, Leles.
