As one of the stations in Banten, Cilegon Stations became a second-class railway station. For details, it is located at Jombang Wetan, Jombang, Cilegon, Banten 42411. 

This station is +14 meters above sea level and is a part of Jakarta Operation Area I. It is also near Nurul Ikhlas Mosque, a historical mosque that was built in the colonial era. The interesting part is that Cilegon Station has only one train that serves passenger transport, it is Commuter Line Merak.

According to its history, this station had been built by Staats Spoorwegen (SS) company to facilitate passenger mobility from Batavia (Jakarta’s old name) to the Banten area. Long story short, this railway line finished on 1st October 1899.

However, there was an interesting thing about that event. At that time, there was a railway line canceled for construction, but because development had occurred, the line construction continued only until Tangerang. After that, the station was recently inaugurated as a branch line of the Tangerang-Duri railway.

Today, Cilegon Station has five lines. Two of them are straight lines, while lines 1 and 3 are for a place to store flat cars, and lines 4 and 5 are for keeping old carriages and goods.
