Penang Port is a one of a kind terminal, as it is the only port operator in Malaysia that operates ferry services linking between Georgetown (Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal) and Butterworth on the mainland (Sultan Abdul Halim Ferry Terminal). Its a great crossing over to Penang Island from Butterworth while enjoying spectacular view and moment along the way. For a backpacking tourist this will be the cheapest and convenient mode of going over to Penang Island. But for tourist or a family trip, it is a historical experience especially with kids. Penang Port operates a fleet of four ferries on a daily basis with 20 – 30 minutes arrival intervals from 5.20 am to 10.00p.m and one ferry from 10.00 pm to 1.00a.m with an arrival interval of 1 hour.

By Plane

If the flight is straight to Penang, the drop off would be at Penang Bayan Lepas International Airport. The flight is approximately 45 minutes frol KLIA/KLIA 2. This airport supports international flights as well. 

By Ferry

You can go to Penang Ferry Terminal in Georgetown (Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal) from Sultan Abdul Halim Ferry Terminal in Butterworth which is the mainland. Its a short 15 minutes ride with Ferry rates are RM1.20 for adults, RM0.60 for children, RM1.40 for bicycles, RM2.00 for motorbikes, RM7.70 for cars, and additional fees for larger vehicles.

By Bus

You can take Bus 101 Rapid Penang. This bus travels from the Jetty bus terminal (Weld Quay), the bus travels along Chulia Street, then onto Penang Road and the KOMTAR Rapid Penang bus terminal. This bus then travels along the winding road of the coastline to Batu Ferringhi beach with its many beach front hotels and night market.You can also catch the "Free Cat" Penang bus at the jetty which takes you around the old part of Georgetown past many of the George Town Hotels and onto KOMTAR.
