Nakashibetsu is a town situated in Nemuro Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. As of 31 March 2008, it has an estimated population of 23,959 and an area of 684.99 km². Nakashibetsu Airport, the easternmost airport in Japan, is in the town. As per 2004, there was an unsuccessful effort to combine Nakashibetsu with the nearby town known as Rausu. The new city would have been named "Higashishiretoko", but the plan was trounced in a vote held in Nakashibetsu.
