He was admired for his personal cultural development, master of tea making and became an inspirational figure for the revival of Buddhism during the war times. The city restored its birthplace in the year 1997 to be a memorial museum. Every April 5th, the birthdate of Cho Eui Seon Sa, Cho Eui Seon Sa Culture Festival is held to commemorate the heritage of the tea making. It attracts many tourists as well as tea enthusiasts.
