The mausoleum was built in the year 1929 to commemorate the iconic figure, also known as the father of China. Visitors can find majestic architecture and craftsmanship within the mausoleum ground, including the great marble archway entrance, the Sacrificial Hall, the Frontispiece marble pavilion, and many more. You will also not miss the 15-feet statue of Dr Sun Yat Sen and his hemispherical tomb where his marble coffin is placed. Entrance to the mausoleum is free, but visitors are required to make reservations before the entry.
  • Nanjing City Wall – If you want to see a historical monument in Nanjing, Nanjing City Wall is a place to go. This wall is a significant cultural and historical remnant from the Ming Dynasty. The current structure stands tall at 21 meters in height with 14 meters footing, up to 21 kilometres in length. Approximately 350 million bricks were used to make this entire wall! Nanjing City Wall was erected over 600 years ago as part of the original Inner City, one of the four parts of the ancient wall. Some parts of the wall can be accessed for free, while the paid entrance via pedicab ride ranges between CNY 15-30 (PHP 108-217), depending on the locations.
  • Xiaoling Mausoleum of Ming Dynasty – Visitors should also not miss visiting Xiaoling Mausoleum of Ming Dynasty, or known as Mingxiaoling by the locals. Built-in the year 1431, Mingxiaoling is one of the largest remaining imperial tombs in China. This mausoleum is located at the southern foot of the Purple Mountain and listed as UNESCO world cultural heritage site. Along the 1.8-kilometre Sacred Way path, visitors will be amazed by the sight of stone sculptured animal guards, ministers and generals. Upon reaching the main tomb, visitors will also find a variety of sculptures depicting tales of the ancient kingdom as well as the sculpture of the first emperor and queen of the Ming Dynasty.
