Doha is the capital of Qatar and was established in 1825. It has a population of 1,850,000 and is the largest city in Qatar. The city is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It is the fastest-growing city in Qatar and the country's economic center. Doha was established as an Al Bidda branch. In 1971, he was declared as the capital of Qatar by the independence of the British Protectorate. Doha is considered a beta city globally by Globalization and World City Research Network. The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in the city as host. It has also been selected as the host city for a number of sporting events, including the 2006 Asian Games, the Pan Arab Games 2011 and most of the AFC Asia Cup 2011. Doha is Qatar's economic hub and the economy is focused on the country's revenue from its oil and gas industry.
Between October and the end of April is the best time to visit Doha. The temperature is currently at its most comfortable, the humidity is low, and the sun is pleasant. Doha was never flooded with tourists, and then in July and August, when most locals and ex-pat workers tended to leave the cold, leaving the hotel and pool empty. Hamad International Airport - The only international airport in Qatar. Located in the South of the capital, Doha. It was built to replace Doha International Airport as Qatar's main airport. Formerly known as the New Doha International Airport (NDIA), Hamad International Airport opened on April 30, 2014. Qatar Airways' national carrier and all other airlines officially moved to the new airport on May 27, 2014.
Doha has a hot desert climate. The climate has long, extremely hot summers and short, warm winters. Between May and September has an average high temperature that surpasses 38 °C and often approaches 45 °C. In May and June, humidity is usually the lowest. Throughout the summer, dew points can surpass 30 °C with almost no precipitation, and less than 20 mm during other months. Rainfall is scarce falling on isolated days mostly between October to March. The winter's days are relativity warm while the sun is up and cool during the night. The temperature rarely drops below 7 °C.
