Freeport A’Famosa Outlet is located at Alor Gajah, Melaka facing the Straits of Melaka and is about 147 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur between the states of Negeri Sembilan and Johor. Officially opened on 28 January 2016 by Datuk Seri Utama Dr Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Datuk Seri Ir. Haji Idris Bin Haji Haron, Chief Minister of Melaka, the outlet is set in an open-air mall featuring a lake, fountains, carousel and windmill with Melaka’s Dutch heritage. There are over Nike, Cotton On, Esprit, Puma, G2000, Carlo Rino, Clarks, Samsonite, Parkson Lifestyle and many dining options and convenience stores. Since its operation started in 2016, this shopping destination has received over 2.5 million visitors already with an occupancy rate of 100%. Baba Nyonya Museum

This notable museum originated by the story of Baba Nyonya at the beginning of the 16th century where merchants and entrepreneurs were lured to Melaka’s shores. Chinese traders who arrived to escape Manchu rule marry local Malay women and the descendants of these marriages were known as Peranakan or ‘Straits-born Chinese’. Located at No. 48-50 along Jalan Tun Cheng Lock in Melaka, the Baba-Nyonya Heritage Museum is a collection of three restored houses arranged to look like a typical 19th-century Baba-Nyonya residence. Built in 1896, these townhouses were transformed into a traditional Peranakan museum featuring hand-painted tiles, elaborately carved teakwood outer swing doors and a sturdier internal door which provides extra security. This museum exhibits the history of Peranakan and their origin in Melaka. Lies near Jonker Street, the museum can be easily located by the Greco-Roman columns, two red lanterns, one bearing a household name and the other messages of good luck.

A’Famosa

A’ Famosa is the 16th-century Portuguese fortress built in Melaka and it is surrounded by museums and other attractions in Melaka. It is among the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Southeast Asia and the Far East and the small gatehouse is the only part of the fortress which still remains today. Consist of long ramparts and four major towers, it was an ammunition storage room, the residence of the captain, and an officers' quarters. Most of the village clustered in townhouses inside the fortress walls. The original fort and extensions were added around 1586 as Melaka's population expanded and increased.
