Kubang Kerian is an area of origin that was originally named Lundang area. In the early 1970s, the Lundang district was amended by its administrative boundaries and renamed Kubang Kerian district by the authorities due to the need for specific current needs as it was an area very close to the city center of Kota Bharu as the capital of Kelantan. Kubang Kerian is a town and also a parliamentary constituency in Kota Bharu district, Kelantan, Malaysia. Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Health Campus is located at Kubang Kerian and also referred to as USM Health Campus. The campus houses 3 schools which are the School of Medical Sciences, the School of Dentistry and the School of Health Sciences. Kubang Kerian is currently represented in the Malaysian Parliament by Ahmad Baihaki bin Atiqullah of PAS.

How to Get There

By Car

From Kuala Lumpur, you can drive using Kuala Lumpur or Gua Musang highway to Kubang Kerian which will take around 7 hours. There is an alternative road which is to take the Persekutuan highway and this road consume about 6 hours and 30 minutes.

By Plane

Besides that, you can fly to Kota Bahru Airport for around 50 minutes and take taxi or rent a car to Kubang Kerian for another 30 minutes using Kuala Krai road or Long Yunus road.

Siti Khadijah Market

Siti Khadijah Market or Pasar besar Siti Khadijah is the biggest local wet market in Kelantan. Its name is taken after Prophet Muhammad's wife, whom is known for her entrepreneurial skill which shows this market is mostly run by women. Many fresh produce available here such as seafood, vegetables and wide variety of fruits and you can also find ready-to eat food like 'ayam percik', nasi ulam and a variety of noodle soups, all unique in flavors and taste of Kelantan. There are also desserts like 'kuih muih' ,tempeh and hot milk tea, which is the staple drink for Kelantanese.

Pantai Irama Bachok

This beach got its name from the gently hushing sound of the sea breeze and known to be the most beautiful beach in Kelantan.
