Malacca was founded by Parameswara which was called Iskandar Shah or Sri Majara, the last Raja of Singapore following a Majapahit attack in 1377. Before the arrival of the first Sultan, Malacca was a simple fishing village inhabited by local Malay people. In the year 1400, the sultan found his way to Malacca where he found an accessible port and it was located on a strategic point of the Malacca Strait. This later became Malacca after his arrival and contribution in making Malacca which had become one of the famous ports in the world.
In 2008, UNESCO listed Malacca as World Heritage Site because many of historical sites are located here. This town is also a home to the newly-relocated Eye on Malacca as well as the two biggest shopping malls in Malacca which are Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall. Other than that, Malacca city is also known for its tantalizing local dishes such as asam pedas, coconut milkshake and many more.
