Sandakan Airport is a domestic airport located in a town of Sandakan district in the state of Sabah. It is built 14 kilometres west of town centre Sandakan. Sandakan Airport serves only Firefly, AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, Malaysia Airlines by MASWings. It is found that this airport has the capacity to handle 1.5 million passengers annually. Unlike its counterpart, the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, this airport does not serve any international flight.

Sim-Sim Village Seafood

Since you are visiting Sandakan, it is a must for you to try dining at the famous floating restaurants, Sim-Sim Village Seafood. Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary

The Sanctuary is located at the centre of the mangrove which is about 38 kilometres away from the Sandakan airport. Shuttle bus service is provided for those who want to visit the sanctuary with the rate of Rm20 per head per journey. However, the tourists need to be aware that the pick-up point is only in Sepilok Town. The Malaysian Resident entrance fees are Rm15 for adult and Rm5 for child. While, the non-resident entrance fees are Rm60 for adult and Rm30 for child.
