Permas Jaya or its the official name of Bandar Baru Permas Jaya is a housing estate and light industrial area located in Mukim Plentong, Johor Bahru District, Johor, Malaysia under the administration of Johor Bahru City Council. The population of this town is approximately about 40,000-45,000 residents. There are bridges in Permas Jaya which are The Permas Jaya Bridge connects with Kampung Baru Bakar Batu, Taman Sentosa and downtown Johor Bahru. The Second Permas Jaya Bridge is completed and had helped to reduce traffic jams. The new Eastern Dispersal Link has also been completed and opened for public on 1 April 2012. Permas Jaya is a popular choice for middle class professionals and business people (mainly local Chinese and Singaporeans) because of its strategic location between Johor Bahru and Pasir Gudang. Other than the bridges, the residential areas are divided into sections, with the section numbers numbering from 1 to 15 and beyond, based on the phases when the town was built.
From Kuala Lumpur city centre, it takes around 3 hours and 20 minutes to reach Bandar Baru Permas Jaya by using North-South highway whereas it takes only 19 minutes via Johor Bharu East Coast highway from Singapore Kastam.
You can take flights such as Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines or Malindo Air from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Senai International Airport which takes around 50 minutes. Next, once you reach the airport, you can take taxi or rent a car to Bandar Baru Permas Jaya for another 30 minutes.
There are a few famous seafood restaurants at Teluk Jawa on the beach of Johor straits. TKK Restaurant is the one of most popular for its Chinese seafood.
