Ungku Omar Polytechnic is an education institution or best known as Malaysian polytechnic which is situated on Jalan Dairy, Ipoh. The name of the Polytechnic was named after the late Dr Ungku Omar bin Ungku Ahmad. It was established by the Malaysian Ministry of Education with help from UNESCO in 1969. The Polytechnic received RM24.5 million funding from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UNESCO was responsible for its construction.
